CREMONINI GROUP: "Chef Express" has reopened the fully reconstructed Vallescrivia Est (A7 Milan-Genoa motorway) service area.
The Cemonini Group inaugurated the new Chef Express service area at Vallescrivia Est (A7 Milan-Genoa motorway) following significant restructuring work. The service area is in the direction of Milan, about 40 km from Genoa, between the Isola del Cantone and Vignole-Arquata exits.
The restructuring project for motorway service areas was started a few years ago by Autostrade per l'Italia (ASPI), and the existing area of 155 m2 has been significantly restructured and expanded as part of a new complex now covering 295 m2, with an overall investment of approximately 650,000 Euros. It is a modern and functional structure, which includes a "Mokà" brand cafeteria, a snack corner serving the "Leone" and "Mr Panino" brands and the "Mercatino Crai" market area.
The work on the new Vallescrivia Est service area was carried out on behalf of Chef Express by Bocchini, a major company based in Jesi (Ancona) specialised in the complete realisation of commercial locations. The know-how acquired in over 40 years by Bocchini has enabled the realisation of a location suited to the new requirements of the catering sector for those travelling by motorway.
The completion of the tarmac covered areas, parking spaces and service viability was finalised by Autostrade per l'Italia.
The area is open 24 hours round the clock, as are all others on the motorway network, and it is expected to serve over 390,000 clients annually.
Cremonini currently manages 38 catering areas on the Italian motorway network, of which 25 are restructured, 2 currently undergoing restructuring (Mirabella Nord and Sud on the A16) and another 2 (S. Martino on the A1 and La Pioppa on the A14) will be restructured during 2010, as part of the plan for the implementation of the new Chef Express catering model launched in 2007.
In 2008, Chef Express Divisione Autostradale, the second largest Italian operator in motorway catering, achieved revenues of 152.7 million Euros (including oil).
Cremonini, with over 9,500 employees, achieved returns of 2,212.1 million Euros in 2008, and is one of the major food product groups in Europe operating in three business areas: production, distribution and catering.
The Group is the leader in Italy in the production of beef and meat based processed products (Inalca JBS and Montana) and in the commercialisation and distribution of food products to foodservice (MARR). It also has a significant presence in the sector of catering in concession on board trains, in railway stations, in airports and in motorway service areas (Chef Express). Lastly, it is also present in the sector of commercial catering, with a chain of steak houses (Roadhouse Grill).
